1952 Martin 00-28G

Martin’s very best nylon-string guitar, from one of their very best periods, the early 1950s. Great builders, great tone, fabulous Brazilian rosewood. This one came to me from a folk singer of that era and beyond who chooses to remain nameless, but he loved it for many, many years, just has too many guitars right now. Cosmetically, you can tell that it’s been around the world several times (which it has), got the little dings and small scars to prove it, badges of honor from gigs untold. It’s structurally A-1, has a few tiny, ancient small cracks, all well-repaired decades ago, a few near the edges of the top, a few in the back, and it is rock-solid overall and plays like a dream. Action perfect perfect; original ivory nut and saddle still there too, unmolested ever. Martin nylon-string guitars have totally unique tone, sound like no other anywhere, and are universally loved for it. This one, with rosewood back and sides and ebony fingerboard and bridge, was their top model and it’s rare; I haven’t had one of these here in years. Your chance for a loveliest of old Martins, at a spectacular price too. Only $3695 w/hsc
