1941 Gibson L-0

The best late-period Gibson L-0 we’ve seen. Period. These L-0 guitars that are among the last of them are also the sturdiest of them, having been made when Gibson was transitioning into more solidly-built instruments in general. You can feel it just by picking this guitar up; it’s solid. Its condition plays no small part in this; it has never needed any major repairs of any kind; there are no cracks anywhere, the frets are original and beautiful, and it sounds like all the days of the late 1930s-early 40s have been built right in, which they were. There’s a little strap rash on the back, a minor thing in a pre-war Gibson this great. Someone did a stellar job of installing a short, better saddle; it's an improvement and it’s almost undetectable. It’s clean, it plays like a dream (just gone over right here in our own workshop), and it’s about the greatest one of these I’ve ever seen. Beautiful high-class modern hard shell case included.
