2002 Gibson J-45

2002 Gibson J-45

Sigh. This is something one doesn’t see every day, or at least we hope that we won’t. I will not reveal who did this or why, though in the fifty-plus years I’ve been doing guitar repairs I guess I’ve seen similar once or twice. Bottom line is that this is a perfect opportunity for making a new top for an experienced luthier, or for you the hobbyist at home, or for someone who is just itching to learn and doesn’t know quite where to begin. It started out at s an American-made Gibson left-handed J-45 but could just as easily end up being right-handed or even no-handed. It’s all there other than the top: frets showing virtually no wear, tuning machines fine, and even the bridge is quite re-usable, could re-slot it for righty if you like. No issues anywhere except the obvious, all ready for you or someone you love to jump right in. Even has a built-in pickup and comes with its original Gibson hard shell case, at least $2-300 worth right there. $395 w/ohsc
