An exceptional new entry into the modern classical category.
A.J White is a young luthier from West Virginia, who, in our opinion, is one of the brightest lights on the guitar making scene in years. As far as we're concerned, he has "it", however one wants to define that. His style of construction pays homage to Michael Kasha, famous guitar designer and builder from the 1960's onwards. Kasha was also an inspiration for Steve Klein, who, among other things, designed the Kiso-Klein guitars and the Taylor acoustic basses, and is of course a well-known master builder. As can be seen in the somewhat unusual soundhole location and bridge design, Kasha's thoughts play a large part here as well, including the area of bracing. The tone is bold and clear, and the workmanship superb. A most lovely classic guitar with Indian Rosewood back and sides and an Englemann Spruce top, by a maker whom we believe to be better than excellent. This guitar is an exceptional bargain as well, in our opinion.
