2013 Triggs Archtop

A truly knockout guitar at a truly blowout price. Jim Triggs, as many of you know, has been building archtop guitars for top players for many years, after having led the Gibson Custom Shop in the 1980s. He builds them one at a time, the old-fashioned way, and he knows how to do it right. No two are ever alike; this particular one has elements of traditional Gibson, with a few nice little Gretsch touches. Its 17”-wide body is of beautiful maple with a light flame, and Gretsch-inspired coloration but in a much more sophisticated range; the neck is one-piece solid genuine mahogany, something few people do anymore. The fingerboard is of finest ebony of course as is the bridge base with Nashville Tune-o-Matic style top. Two nice fat-sounding Humbucking pickups, genuine Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, and the very finest craftsmanship throughout; what more could you possibly ask for? A terrific price, that’s what. James Triggs' guitars routinely go for $4-5000; this one, in near-mint, almost unplayed condition is a total steal at only $2595 w/ohsc
