Eastman EBJ-WL1 Banjo

We have just gotten in the newest Eastman open-back banjo and we are thrilled with it. The Eastman Company, as many of you know, makes some of the very finest mandolins available today, at any price, and we carry them exclusively as new instruments. This banjo fits right in with their line and is a wonderful replica of the much sought-after early 20th-century Vega Fairbanks Whyte Laydie models; it is as faithful to the original as one could possibly be. I have owned a Vega Fairbanks #2 model made in 1910 for nearly fifty years as my own personal banjo and I’ve gotta say, this Eastman lives up to the tradition, in every way. The dimensions are correct, the neck shape is right, the entire rim and tone-ring construction are right, and the whole dang banjo is right, even down to the fabulous engraving on the mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays. Feels just like 1910 to me too, especially with those correctly-sized frets, and has all the bright tonality of the original as well. Combining this with modern geared tuning pegs (I wish my old one had them!) is all you need to get right there, in a hurry. It is simply fabulous, and at a terrific price. $1359 w/hsc
