2015 Martin HM-28/45 Custom

2015 Martin HM-28/45 Custom

A most unusual opportunity, a Martin Custom Shop guitar that I designed every tiny detail on, both inside and out, and based on a guitar I built back in the 1960s which ended up becoming a standard Martin model. It is an M, or 0000-size Martin, of which their M-38 was the very first production model in that size, and which itself was inspired by a conversion from a pre-war Martin F-7 that I put together for David Bromberg in 1967 or so. I had Martin’s Custom Shop make me two of these in 2015; this is one of them. It has all the appointments of the now-famous "HD-28/45" guitars that we had a few of made for us back in the 1970s but is extra-special in that its back and sides are of AAA-grade Indian rosewood and superb Sitka spruce that were hand-selected for me at the Martin factory. It has the internals of an HD-28 (some of which details are unique, and that no other Martin model has), along with a specially matched 45-style heart-of-abalone inlaid soundhole rosette. The neck is complete D-45 in every detail, with an older-style full contour shape and full gloss finish, solid abalone hexagon-shaped fingerboard inlays, and the "CF Martin" logo block letter peghead inlay in beautiful complementary white mother-of pearl; the tuners are American-made Waverlys, by far the best in the world. The overall effect is stunning. Its tone is so big, and bright, and clear, as to make you and everyone sit right up and take notice. Its original owner now needs to pass it on, and it is in immaculate, near-mint condition, unaltered and exactly as he bought it from us. There is not another like it available, anywhere, nor is there likely to be again. A tremendous bargain at only $3995 w/ohsc
