1922 Martin 0-21

This is a gorgeous, extremely solid, pre-war 12-fret Martin guitar, in the loveliest of sizes and at an astoundingly low price. It has been thoroughly restored and while I do not know who did the work, I can say that it is of quite high quality. In addition, the entire guitar has been gone over here in our own shop to ensure perfect setup and structural integrity throughout. What’s been done to it is: ebony bar added to the interior of the neck to re-inforce it for steel strings; new fingerboard made, with original-style bar frets; bridge replaced with an ebony one of Martin manufacture, as per original in the original design but thankfully with compensation; maple bridge plate replaced, and correctly I might add; two back cracks repaired and reinforced; bone nut and saddle made in the original Martin style; what appears to me to be one thin coat of original-style varnish applied overall, barely detectable. The total effect is to have come up with an extremely lightweight, absolutely beautiful and beautifully balanced Brazilian rosewood pre-war Martin guitar that performs flawlessly with a standard set of .010 strings. Martins of this general type are rare enough today; when found, they are usually in barely acceptable condition if that, priced at $6000 or more, or both. This one is a terrific bargain at only $3995 w/hsc
