Gurian S3M 1970s
Gurian S3M 1970s
In many people’s opinions the hippest and coolest size of all the Gurian guitars, the Size 3. With dimensions similar to that of a Martin 000 but with a slightly different contour so as to give it a unique range, the Gurian S3M, with its genuine mahogany back and sides and Sitka spruce top has got the clarity, evenness of tone, and volume that makes it a prime guitar for both soloing and accompaniment. All thoroughly gone over by us here in our own shop, the action is just right with a perfect set of .012-.053 strings. The combination of its extremely comfortable mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, and genuine German-made Schaller tuning machines makes it play and feel just as great as the day it was made, and it sounds even better. The top seam was tightened up long ago and is 100% solid. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish is in beautiful condition and the original label still inside says “Gurian Workshops. Earth, Third Planet From The Sun”. Everyone always loved that, still does. The tone is clear and bright as only a Gurian S3M can provide. One of the rarest and most desirable of all the Gurian models, these S3Ms are extremely unusual to find on the market today, especially in this condition. A rare opportunity to have one of the most desirable fingerpicking guitars of a bygone era. Now nearly fifty years old, this is a fine example of one of the very best models from an iconic American builder. Comes with its original American-made hard shell case. $3295 w/ohsc
