Dick Boak is who, the man who not only brought the Martin Guitar Company out of the 19th century (yep, the 19th) but who created and ran their artist-endorsed model program, their museum, one heck of a lot of their custom shop, and more. Dick was and is at heart an artist and creator, and this D Boak Inside Out Special Edition is one of his masterpieces. #25 of a very limited run of only 100 pieces. This one originally went to, and was recently given to me by, my old pal John Sebastian of Lovin’ Spoonful fame and so much more. John has recently been downsizing his collection and wanted this guitar to go to a very special place. The artwork on the guitar's top is Dick Boak's own, depicting the early Martin Guitar factory from 1859 (they still own and use the building), with Martin’s iconic top bracing pattern also pictured in all its classic completeness. And bonus, in addition to Dick's hand-inked signature on the interior label, he signed it again right on the back of the guitar specially for John.
